A healthcare provider announced it will create more than 100 permanent jobs by opening a new branch.
Newcross Healthcare this week opened a branch on Orford Place in Norwich and is advertising nursing and healthcare jobs.
Over the next six to 12 months, the company predicts it will have created more than 100 jobs in acute healthcare, community and care at home.
Norwich Branch Manager Emma Plunkett said: “Newcross’ launch in Norwich is a real boost for the local economy.
“Creating over 100 permanent jobs for the local and surrounding areas is no mean feat, but we are committed to providing national experience at a local level.”
The branch will be Newcross’s 45th in the country, and the company said there would be many opportunities for people to find work.
Newcross Operations Director Geoff White said: “With our ever-expanding portfolio of branches we have continuous opportunities to welcome nurses and healthcare professionals to the Newcross team.”
The move was also welcomed by city officials, who said the number of jobs Newcross could create was “significant”.
Norwich city council leader Alan Waters said: “Norwich is a vibrant centre for employment with a thriving local economy.
“Building on this, we welcome the significant number of job opportunities brought here by companies such as Newcross investing in the city.”
