Leading Broads holiday specialist Herbert Woods has reported a major jump in inquiries after being featured in the latest episode of ITV’s Weekend Escapes with Warwick Davis.

The prime time show was aired on Friday evening and showed the well known actor, who plays Professor Flitwick in Harry Potter and Ewok Wicket in Star Wars, and his family collecting the 35ft cruiser Olympic Light from Herbert Woods’ base at Potter Heigham.

Herbert Woods’ marketing director, Amanda Walker, said: “Warwick did a great job promoting the delights of cruising on the Broads, showcasing the boat as well as the scenery and attractions in our region.

“They visited us last August and really seemed to have a good time and he is clearly a very keen ‘staycationer’.

“The programme highlighted that seven million peoples visited the Norfolk Broads last year putting something like £500m into the local economy.

“As a result of being on the programme we have had well over 100 requests for brochures and they are still coming in as people watch it on catch up TV. So it looks like it will be a major boost for us.”
