Former Norwich City footballer Darren Eadie was guest of honour to mark the new ownership of the Norwich branch of TaxAssist.

Existing employees Robin Johnson and David Mewes have successfully bought into the firm after their boss, Robert Marjoram, decided to move on.

To celebrate the venture the pair hosted an official shop opening, where the former Canaries star cut the ribbon.

Members of the local business community were also in attendance with nibbles and refreshments provided.

Mr Johnson said: “We knew the business inside out and thoroughly enjoy working with our small local business clients, so making the decision to buy TaxAssist Accountants Norwich was a simple one for us.

“With market conditions picking up locally, we knew we could grow the business and look forward to that challenge.”

Mr Mewes added: “Norwich is a thriving centre for tradesmen and women, retailers, consultants and businesses.

“We knew there was a definite niche to be filled and have had a very positive response from the local business community so far.

“I am really looking forward to working with them to help protect their hard-earned income.”
