A father and son team are hoping that people's love for classic cars will put them in the fast lane to success - after pairing up for an exciting new venture.
Chris and Mike Withers have formed GTB Restorations Ltd to restore classic Italian cars.
Working from a refurbished unit in Station Road, Elmswell, in West Suffolk, the business focusses on Ferrari and other Italian marques, offering bespoke service and restoration of all Italian cars from the 50s to the 80s.
The service includes full engine, gearbox and rear axle rebuilds and repairs. Traditional methods are used to restore the bodywork, including partial and full resprays and all parts are sympathetically restored.
When asked why they felt there was a demand for such a service, Mike, 35, from Walsham le Willows, said: 'In recent years classic cars have seen a real boom in popularity, both as investments and a hobby.
'People really love their classic cars, and we want to help make that easier.
'These cars can be quite valuable and deserve to have their DNA preserved so we endeavour to maintain originality by repairing parts or sourcing new old stock items. We can also remanufacture old parts if necessary.'
The father and son have hands-on experience of restoring some of the world's most expensive cars, as well as a background in business, technical and engineering.
Currently they are working on full restoration, including bodywork, of two Ferraris and engine repairs on another.
Chris, 64, also of Walsham le Willows, added: 'We have found that there are few people offering the experience and knowledge necessary to restore classic Italian marque cars and those that do charge very high rates.
'We can offer competitive prices and a service conducted by people with hands-on experience of restoring these cars.
'Moving these cars around can be a problem, with the weather we experience, so we even offer free collection and return in our own, covered transport in mainland UK.'
