A Norwich-based engineering firm has been chosen to complete an offshore construction project for a multinational energy company.
Aquaterra Energy will be delivering early well construction operations for Equinor in Johan Sverdrup, one of the largest offshore oil fields in the northern North Sea.
It will be using its Well Start solution – specialist engineering services for well drilling and pre-drilling operations.
Aquaterra will engineer and supply nine complete strings of centralisers and associated equipment, as well as tieback engineering, which supports the retaining walls of the well. The work will be managed from its Norwich headquarters in Alkmaar Way and its recently-opened Stavanger office in Norway.
Christian Berven, Norway business development director at Aquaterra Energy, said: 'We're proud to play a role in developing this prestigious field.'
