Energy minister Michael Fallon and DONG Energy’s Peter Sutton have joined the line-up of international speakers at the Southern North Sea energy conference next month.

The event, organised by the East of England Energy Group (EEEGR), will be held on March 5 and 6 at the Norfolk Showground and will feature guest speakers EDF Energy and Shell who are looking for market opportunities in the East of England supply chain.

Day one of the conference opens with a training and skills session and will later focus on the crucial role of technology and innovation in ensuring that the region’s sector is modern, competitive, efficient and safe.

Mr Fallon is guest speaker at a gala dinner which will link the two days on the evening of March 5.

Mr Sutton will be telling delegates on the second day about DONG’s future projects, including the 580MW Racebank offshore wind project, which it bought from energy-giant Centrica.

Simon Gray, EEEGR’s chief executive, said the line-up of experts makes it the best conference it has ever staged.
