TRADE Electricals Direct (TED), which is part of East Anglia-based electricals retail group Hughes, has been appointed as a Miele Professional sales and service partner.

TED, which has branches Ipswich, Colchester, Cambridge, Norwich, King’s Lynn, Peterborough, London and Birmingham, will now be supplying the full range of Miele Professional washing machines, tumble dryers and commercial dishwashers, which are designed for daily heavy-duty use.

“This is a great coupe for us as Miele is a market leader,” said TED general manager, Paul Chisnall. “It has also seen us take on five new members of staff to cover servicing, installation and sales.

“We are particular pleased to welcome Bob Kelly as senior adviser who has over 15 years experience in the industry and we will be supplying and servicing Miele machines throughout Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk.”

He added: “Our main customers will be the likes of care homes, boarding schools, sports centres and hotels. We always need to make sure customers match the right machines with their needs so we will undertake a full site inspection before any installation.

“In the light of rising energy costs, customers are looking for the most economical products for their requirements and Miele has some of the most efficient on the market. For example one tumble dryer costs just 18p an hour to run.

“It’s an exciting start to the New Year, coming on the back of 2012 when we became an approved supplier to the London Olympics which saw us deliver over 3,000 individual items to the games.”

Les Marshall, sales and marketing director for Miele, said: “The team at TED are extremely professional and knowledgeable and the perfect fit with Miele. They will be instrumental in driving growth and continuing to adapt to evolving customer requirements.”
