A family-run restaurant has secured a £330,000 loan to expand its business – almost doubling the number of covers it can manage.

Downham Tandoori Restaurant, in High Street, Downham Market, extended the site it has been in for 20 years into the adjacent property increasing capacity from 60 to 100 covers.

The owners, brothers Abdul and Anwar Ali, took a business expansion loan from NatWest to carry out the work, which was completed last month.

Anwar said: “We’ve been in business for 20 years and we have reached a point where we have outgrown our current space.

“Thanks to the support from NatWest, we have secured the finance needed to expand through to the available space next door and turn it into a business capable of welcoming more than 100 diners each night.

“We look forward to welcoming customers new and old to our new look restaurant.”
