Now live: Is your company one of the best employers in the region?

The search has begun for our region’s best companies to work for - but there is still time for your business to take part.
The Best Employers Eastern Region programme offers employers the chance to find out for free the satisfaction levels among their staff, and receive guidance on how to build innovative and inspiring workplaces.
The 2018 programme was opened for companies to sign up in January and the first surveys have now gone live for companies to begin tracking the engagement and motivation of their employees.
The programme was founded by recruitment company Pure and psychometrics experts Eras and in 2018 is being delivered in partnership with publisher Archant and law firm Birketts.
Lynn Walters, executive director at Pure, said: “It’s free, it’s easy and it can have a big, positive impact on your business.
“Before you can improve employee engagement, you need to know where you are now. The Best Employers Eastern Region survey has been expertly designed to capture this information for you. Once the survey is complete, employers are given a tailored report of the findings with a range of options to improve their workplaces. They can also link up with others to share solutions at the seminars and networking events organised as part of the Best Employers Eastern Region initiative.”
Alex Pearce, director of assessment at Eras, said employers should not be concerned about the findings.
“We understand that it can seem a little scary, but whatever the findings reveal, isn’t it better to know and to have expert support around you to help make positive changes?” he said.
“Those who take part are often pleasantly surprised, their employees value them more highly than they had realised.”
Staff complete a confidential survey, which can be tailored for each business and completed online. Once complete, each organisation receives a report summarising its culture, values and leadership style, and an action plan on how to improve.
All entrants are entered for the Best Employers Eastern Region 2018 Awards in September, and gold and platinum accreditations will be awarded.
Ms Walters added: “The survey can even be completely customised, combining elements from any existing employee surveys so employers can still measure results against previous employee data. It’s also the only survey of its kind which allows employers to compare themselves with other regional businesses for free, helping to really inform strategic planning and deliver long term organisational change.”
