Guest Presenters
Rob Chandler was still in short trousers when he decided he wanted to be on the radio. A love of music coupled
with a classic joker personality seemed to Rob to be the perfect ingredients. DJ'ing school discos and his own mini
radio station in his bedroom followed and after being turned down by Radio Orwell at the age of 16, he finally got
his break 4 years later after sending a tape in to his favourite DJ on the station. Rob stayed in his home town until
1984 when Radio Broadland launched and he successfully applied to be one of the original presenters on the station.
Despite several good offers to lure him away, his love Norfolk and Suffolk has kept him at the station for 22 years,
20 of those spent on the Breakfast Show. Rob's partnership with Chrissie Jackson has been one of the most popular in
the station's history, keeping them at the top of the ratings during their 7 years together.
Although Chrissie was born in Manchester, her Dad (a Norwich boy born and bred) moved the family back 'home'
when she was 6. At school she once organised an end of term disco and from then on she knew she wanted to be a DJ!
Chrissie started out working for a few years in local clubs before sending her demo to Radio Broadland begging to be
given a chance. That didn't work, so she tried again... and again... until finally they let her have an
audition. They weren't impressed with that either! But as the saying goes, if at first you don't suceed... After 18
months of nagging and more auditions she landed her first show which, in her own words was "the most frightening
experience of my life". Chrissie has presented a number of different shows on Radio Broadland and teamed up with Rob
Chandler in April 1999 to create the award-winning "Rob & Chrissie Breakfast Show".
The show which has expanded to include travel news presenter 'Travel Ange' and newsreader 'Posh' Harry Mitchell,
has become something of a local institution with thousands of listeners regularly tuning in for their daily antics.
Hear the show weekdays 6am - 10am on Radio Broadland 102.4FM.
