Tooled up with baseball bats and a sawn-off shotgun, they robbed their way from Norfolk to Devon in a six-month spree of violence that brought terror to rural communities. Victims relived their terror last night, as five members of the Curtis Gang were jailed for a minimum of 25 years.

Motorists face treacherous driving conditions today across Norfolk as the coldest snap of the winter continues to bite. Police said they were “inundated” with reports of crashes in the county on Saturday night as thick snow fell on to frozen roads.
