A
tribute to Norfolk's greatest hero
It
is more than two centuries since Norfolk-born Horatio
Nelson earned his place in history with his victory
and death at the Battle of Cape Trafalgar.
But his life and times were celebrated
in the Nelson Decade which culminated in 2005, the 200th
anniversary of Trafalgar.
Born at Burnham Thorpe - he called
it 'dear, dear, Burnham' in 1758 - Nelson once said:
'I am myself a Norfolk man... and glory in being so.'
Here we pay tribute to Norfolk's
own hero, Horatio Nelson, with features on his life,
his passionate relationship with Lady Emma Hamilton,
his battles and his county of Norfolk.
