Foods and Seasons
Eat the Seasons is an excellent guide to seasonal food.
The East of England Apples and Orchards Project provides a wealth of information on the history, culture and practice of orchard fruit across the region.

Food and Landscape
Explore Your Countryside is a guide to the landscape, market towns and villages of the East of England. The food trails section investigates three food groups in detail, while the food and drink section describes food tours around each of the region’s six counties.
Eat the View is a Countryside Agency initiative to promote local food and the landscapes it supports. Their website has a round-up of news on local food initiatives. The agency is also responsible for the Countryside Character Intiative providing detailed analysis of the country’s landscape areas.

Food Culture
Common Ground celebrates local distinctiveness in food and other areas.
Slowfood is an international movement, originating in Italy, promoting food and wine culture, and defending food and agricultural biodiversity worldwide. Slow Food opposes the standardisation of taste, defends the need for consumer information, protects cultural identities tied to food traditions, safeguards foods and cultivation and processing and defends domestic and wild animal and vegetable species.

Food and Health
The Food Standards Agency is an independent Government department to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food, providing comprehensive information on food health and safety issues. A subsidiary site, eatwell (www.eatwell.gov.uk), provides advice on healthy eating.

Food Initiatives
Local Food Works provides news and information on local food initiatives across the country.
f3 is a consultancy specialising in local food. Their website includes a regular round-up of news on local food initiatives and publications.
Food Links UK is a network of organisations supporting the local food sector.
Food Vision provides case studies and information on local food and food access initiatives across the country, from a local authority perspective.
Sustain: the alliance for better food and farming, represents over 100 public interest organisations and advocates food and agriculture policies and practices that enhance the health and welfare of people and animals, improve the working and living environment, enrich society and culture and promote equity.
