St Mary Whissonsett

Welcome to Whissonsett

St Marys Norfolk has a treasure trove of medieval churches and villages which any English county would find hard to better.

St Mary's church is in the heart of the village of Whissonsett, which lies four miles south of Fakenham in the heart of Norfolk.

Surrounded by orchards, the village itself surrounds another expanse of fields in which the mainly 14th-century church nestles, framed by trees.

It is an idyllic scene. But behind this seemingly timeless picture is the hard work carried out by generation after generation of ordinary Norfolk people to preserve and beautify the church and village they love.

This is the story of one of those churches -- and some of the people associated with its life. Choose any of the options below and discover the world of Whissonsett...
