Artist John Atkinson will have his own exhibition next year - thanks to the EDP Arts, Antiques & Collectables supplement's Budding Artist Competition, sponsored by Picturecraft Gallery & Exhibition Centre, Holt.

This competition gave amateur artists the opportunity to submit up to three examples of their work. The work was assessed by a panel of seven judges, who have direct links to the local art scene.

The Ice Cream Eaters. As well as the exhibition, at Picturecraft Gallery in Holt during 2007, John wins a £200 prize donated by East Anglia Art Fund - four tickets to Kandinsky: The Path to Abstraction at Tate Modern with return travel from ‘one’ railway.

Second was Helen Kennett's Orange Boat and third was Tim Wall's Yellow & Black Norfolk Landscape. Helen, of Clover Hill, Bowthorpe, Norwich, and Tim, of North Walsham, each receive £100 in art supplies vouchers from Winsor & Newton & Daler Rowney supplied by Picturecraft Art Supplies & Framing.
