| Peter
has been editing the Eastern Daily Press since August
1993. During his 34 years with the company, he has
held a number of senior posts, including Executive
Editor of the EDP and Editor of the Great Yarmouth
Mercury.
During his editorship, the EDP has moved
from broadsheet to tabloid format and in September
1997 was the first regional newspaper in the country
to publish a Saturday colour magazine followed in
1999 by a monthly glossy magazine. Another first for
the EDP was differential pricing depending on the
days of the week.
In the 2004/5 New Year Honours list,
he was made an OBE for his services to journalism.
Peter is married with two grown
up sons and in his “spare” time enjoys
gardening, squash and soccer (Spurs fan and Canaries
supporter). He has a special interest in motoring
and still writes on the subject.
