polystyrene shred it down to small bits and re use in boats as bouyancy aids as the small bits could be blown in to gaps behinde panels all so insulates there must be some thing we can use it for.
in my time ive put a hole manner of recyclables in landfills but iam doing what iam told by men/woman in offices who know best(WELL MENT TOO) ton s of wood, metal, paper, etc,we must stop being like this as no one knows what a lined & capped land fill will look like in a 100 years think of it as a big packet of rubbish waiting to pop ok the gas is took off and used to fuel generators for electric .
the lechate (liquids) in the bottom can corrode stainless steel this is our creation so should deal with it not leave it for our grand kids.
will the time team in the year 4000 dig up a land fill site and find all our old rubbish and say thats why nothing grows here !

CAT HI DRIVE Polystyrene potentially can be recycled as buoyancy, a useful growing media mixed with compost in pots, insulation. Be careful though because it is highly flamable and produces toxic gases when on fire, so play safe with polystyrene.

Be careful of the wood surrounding the polystyrene as well, as it burns quite readily and your boat might sink before you have a chance to die from the polystyrene fumes. I expect varnish will make the wood more combustable, so be careful with that as well. Be careful of the fuel you use to power the boat, and the matches you use to light your cigarettes whilst sailing. Be careful of the water as it can drown you if you stay submerged for more than 1 minute. Be careful of other boats as they can collide with you. Be careful not to set your personal bouyancy aids on fire, and always have an extinguisher near you, but be careful not to inhale the extinguisher gases. Always have an asbestos sheet ready to cover a fire, but be careful because asbestos can kill you. Finally be careful.
