Come on, own up
How many of you yesterday, watching the MJ memorial service thought the coffin lid would open and he would come out singing Thriller.

Come on, own up
how many of you were sad and inadequate enough to watch the Wacko show yesterday?

No but I was cross enough to complain to the BBC. I don't think I have ever seen such a disproportionate response from the BBC to the death of anyone-including Diana.
They are going to look pretty damn silly if the vested interests don't manage to keep all the skeletons in the cupboard.

No, wallis, I didnt intend to watch it but the same as everyone else was force fed it from every media outlet.
I had sidestepped it until late last night but it got me in the end.

OFF button?
Perhaps [hopefully] we may conclude on a note of agreement here: I found it perfectly insufferable - not to say bizarre in the extreme - that while hundreds of ethnic Uighurs and newcomer Han are hacking eachother to bits in NW China... the news on all channels (ackshirley, Indian and Russian TV news excepted) was totally taken over by MJ's funeral.
A sign of the times, alas.

It is a start wallis, but
Yes, I agree with you, however it was righted this morning.
I do not pay Sky £50 quid a month to use the OFF button, it was everywhere.

How has a man who attempted to change the colour of his skin and the shape of his face done anything to unite people from different cultures and challenge racial division, unless they were all united in feeling sorry for a lovely looking talented kid who ended up looking and behaving like an alien. The only thing that did the uniting was MTV and money.
Keith Vaz should be ashamed. What a pr8t

I think it has to be said, that if a reported 1 billion tuned in to watch the service, then the feeling from the generation that did like and enjoy what M J gave to the world has to be respected.
I did watch the service and on balance was glad I did. Nobody was forced to watch it, but having enjoyed his dancing ability and music, the service ended the final chapter in his living life, and a little of me joined in saying goodbye.
I won`t dwell to long on this, but as things settle down, he has made history and did have talent which was recongnised by sales throughout the world, and not many can perform live in the way he did.
He was a worldwide icon and a legend by a generation and by many others that put him there. The fact that he sold out in all 50 advanced shows in London, speaks volumes for his fan base. He was a special one off person, just like many legends are. The fact he broke new ground in the pop world like a few others did before him, and has been part of my life in the music I have enjoyed so far ....
What further news comes to light in the near future is unknown and another matter..........

"Dr Johnson famously remarked: "In lapidary inscriptions a man is not upon oath"
We have learned a new word today , try slipping it into a conversation. Great article , the republican congressman must be under police protection

The congressman and I see eye to eye. Scroll down to my earlier posts about our media looking silly if the Jackson family etc dont manage to keep everyone quiet. What will they do then, the BBC etc- have you seen a Glitter performance on any Xmas/70s nostalgia shows since he was revealed to be a monster? The BBC adulation and reporting was ill judged and completely lacking in perspective
Of course we should speak ill of the dead if there was something ill to speak of.
How wonder how many late stars are regarded as greater than they really were because we did not witness their slide into mediocrity.
