So it appears that the whole thing about the impossibility of proving a negative was just way too complicated an idea for you to take on. Your proof seems to consist of "I saw something. I don't know what caused it. It's a ghost".

The critical thinking of a small stone.

to prove or disprove a haunhted location is up to the iduvidual investigating what he/she witness is called a personal experiance which they then use the evidence caught or not to validate the location as haunted or not...if you dont belive me  ask any paranormal investigator im sure you are right and they are all wrong (haha)  the world according to amber.......shudder

So that's the level of proof you reckon is needed to establish whether something exists or not. If you have a "personal experience" that's enough.

I should try saying that in front of anyone with any kind of science qualification, or indeed anyone with any kind of education over GCSE level.

I've known four year olds with a better grasp of scientific process.

Unfortunately, there are very very few out there that can truely be called a paranormal investigator.

And of these few, none of them would profess to be experts (nor be prone to declare something paranormal at the drop of a hat).

Beware of anyone calling themselves an expert.

As for Amber, she makes some serious points which are oft over looked in the rush for a public lynching.

Anyway, back to the original point of the thread - anything going on out there?

Kind Regards
Mark D.

i never said they were experts, and i agree  be wary of anyone calling themselves an expert  if they claim they are they are either  very stupid or borderline insane as far as amber goes everybody is entitled to an opinion but she thinks she has the world to rights,example.....she claims ghosts dont exsist ,ok can she prove it ,like people belive god or jesus exsists again prove they did,the lost city of atlantis nobody knows it really did exsist but people devoted their entire lives looking for it,the same goes for paranormal experiances you either belive or you dont belive its your choice and everybody has to respect that .
why go pissing people of with comment you know will upset them its up to them what they belive just leave them alone...not that hard really is it children

I wonder if you can convey the impossibility of proving a negative to this individual Mark? My attempts to put it in the clearest possible terms have clearly failed.

Either that or he/she is so blinded by desire to believe in this unproven, insubstantial, unsubstantiated twaddle that nothing anyone will say will open their eyes.

Re: Anything happening on the Norfolk Paranormal Scene?
to answer ambers question to is a personal experiance enough to prove  no it is not but i have listened to a few paranormal investigators who use this to verify with the evidence they have collected,is it solid  evidence ? no  but it seems to do,i8ts like some people seeing the virgin mary only they claim to see this but other people belive it happened, why?cause they want to belive    one day they might find solid proof of  survival after death  who knows...not me and defiantly not you amber cause your mind is small just like the 4 year olds who live on your planet  i just hope that thet dont start selling tickets to your planet  because when they do  the human race is finished..the world by amber dont leave the house dont have friends just stay at home and knit.....sounds like fun cant wait to get old and grumpy

Re: Anything happening on the Norfolk Paranormal Scene?
Hello Coopz,

On a couple of points, at the time of writing, ghosts don't exist. Period. This is why they are paranormal.

It's impossible to prove that something doesn't exist - you cannot prove a negative. The burden of proof always lies with those claiming paranormal provenance.

I keep a fire-breathing Dragon in my garage - prove that I don't.

As for upsetting people, clearly Amber does rub some up the wrong way.

But equally, why should tosh be posted and no one allowed to point out the obvious?

Perhaps Amber should be congratulated for pointing out that the emperor has no clothes?

People get very passionate about their beliefs true. But does 'belief' make something a reality?

Now, where was I? Ah yes, anything happening on the Norfolk paranormal scene these days?

Kind Regards
Mark D.

Thanks Mark, "waiting for solid proof" does not mean that there is any proof forthcoming. I'm happily waiting for solid proof that I am a billionaire but until that arrives I'm finding it hard to get the shops to believe that, how unfair is that?

Belief in this kind of nonsense earns no respect simply because people believe in it.

Hello,

Just read what you have said. Why don't you believe in anything spooky? Some is real, and other things are not so real. You just have to be sensrtive enough to know the diff between the both. Shame though, as people who do not experience anything spooky or paranormal they are missing out on alot, as they can help you with your life in more so than one. Oh well. I am sure people will disergree with me untill they have there own exprience for themselves. pitty.......

Re: Anything happening on the Norfolk Paranormal Scene?
Why do I not believe it? Because I generally have to have some actual substantiated proof of something before I believe in it. Anything will do, more than just wild eyed hopeful superstition.

It is not a question of people not "experiencing anything spooky or paranormal", it is a matter of not leaping from "I can't immediately explain this" to "it must have happened because a dead person in spirit form caused it. A leap that is not bridged by intelligent thought.

Nothing strange at all, I imagine he was thoroughly embarrassed about working on a paranormal programme. They are all just about as honest as a medium with his hand outstretched for payment in return for contacting your dead mother.

In many ways the gullible deserve to be ripped off but i believe in helping those less fortunate and shall continue to point out just how many clothes those emperors have.
