Nice...

Some really good bands and songs here, can't wait for the gig should be great. What does everybody think? My favourite track has to be "Animation" by Geoff Chapa. If you haven't already download it now! It Rocks!

I Think its great the EDP is doing this, offering unsigned bands from Norwich a chance to play a big venue and get some exposure.

RE: Nice...

Also well done the UEA, Academy of sound and Roland. It always seems to be these same organisations when ever local musicians are featured. Its as if they have a monopoly on local entertainment.

I wouldn't mind but all the staff at the academy seem to be little older than 14 and the prices are horrendous. I can source some of the featured musical equipment for nearly half the price. Still I expect the winning bands get special rates so thats all right then.

We dont have to guess the local studio involved do we.

One day local entertainment will get into the 21st century but not yet.

RE: Nice...

personally elis are the group for me i love the songs love the live energy love them. i'm really looking forward to seeing them live again.

i wish people would stop talking as if these bands can't get gigs without the edp. i admit no doubt this is a great boost and fantastic opportunity for these bands but everyone is making it sound like without the edp these bands wouldn't exist. its just a bit too much of the "see this raw talent first" the talent really isn't raw if it was they would all sound awful and wouldn't be able to produce such fantastic songs and recordings as she's a slave. however i'll say thanks for the chance to see elis at the lcr the bass licks and syncopated kick drum rhythms through the lcr's system is really going to be something to witness.

RE: Nice...
Why is anyone surprised when a Band Competition organised by the regions largest publication is supported by (probably) the area's largest music shop - Academy of Sound - and most successful studio (Purple). They are hardly huge corporate monsters, and it's refreshing to know that they are willing to support this kind of event, and for those who don't notice these things they always support local events both large and small throughout the year, often with little or no recognition. Good on 'em.
