Cruelty of British forces over the years
The cruelty the British used to subjugate and then degrade the native tribes of North America.

Records show that many high English officials were very imaginative in finding ways to achieve their goals.

The following is an example of their racist mentality.

July 1763 General Jeffery Amherst ,Commander in Chief of British Forces in North America sent a memo to Colonel Bouquet.

Could it not be contrived to send the Smallpox among the tribes of Indians.

Bouquet replied ,i will try to inoculate the tribes with blankets infected with the Pox.

Amherst wished to hunt the natives with English dogs.

Corcwallis an English Hero made no destiction between .native Men, women, and children in his geocidal strategy. And the genocide went on. America is not perfect by any means.

Some people should read British history and the torment his nation has inflicted on others.

God Bless America.

Perhaps the following means nothing to the Americans;
Procolmation of 1763 by King George III of England,
To the relief of the Cherokees, The document promised that there would be no more white settlements in the Appalachian Mountians , and all that points west, unfortunaly there was no way to in force this law, But does show the interest and compassion of England , whom felt that the Indians deserved more than they were recieving from there own country men.

The Civil war where American faught against American.

Teneeseeians, mainly British, Scottish and Irish desent.

In the modern day.
I have visited the USA a few times now, and find that American TV shows hardly any programs which shows what is happening in and around the rest of the world unless the USA has an involment, leaving a high amount of Americans believing that such as the British troops are doing nothing.
It is fact that British troops namely SAS, entered a cave in Afghanistan fighting hand to hand combat,( and winning), SAS then went on to lay for some weeks, guiding with laser the American airforce to there tagets, The Americans would view this on TV as " American precision bombing of targets", not a mention of the British involment.

No Mention of British involment in Vietnam.

Hollywood the movie world would have us believe that America won wwii on its own, they glorify the blood and guts, Brain washing there younger generation.
They make many mistakes in making the movies, one of which in Memphis Belle, where you can see tram lines in the corn field, that could onlybe made by modern day equiptment.
Pearl Habour, the wrong mark spitfires etc etc.
There is to be a movie on the Battle of Britian, guess wht an American cast as the hero, yes we are great ful for the American Vols, but i know none that can be casted as a hero over a British pilot, which we had/have many.
Now they have there hands on Colditz which has talk of being an all American cast, there were no Americans involed in the break out.
The list is endlist.

I have great respect for all those that have served for freedom, and have spoke to many wwii veterans, some Americans agree with my beliefs, British veterans are modest.

Is it not the British that are respecting the involment of the USA wwii with the keeping of Museums and memorials to the USAAF etc.

But please do not have a go at the British, we have to learn from mistakes from the past, as should the Americans.

And pray tell me why it should be God Bless America, why should God Bless America and not any other country, Was God an American?.

We owe so much to all our allies that hardly ever get a mention, such as Canadians,Australians, India, Newzelanders, and all.

Rule Brittainia...

Tony Bee.

Just happened to see your old comments regarding the acknowledgement here in the USA of British Forces achievement. When I first came to this country I had similar feelings but today this is not the case. The History channel on cable TV has programs almost every week on such items as WW2, British weapons, fighter aircraft and so on. In fact I see more today than  can remember on the BBC 40 years ago when I lived in Britain. Only yesterday I happened to switch on and watched an entire program given over to the Tornado and the training of UK pilots on this aircraft.

Good post, Tony, we British have much to be proud of. Fortunately we are of the stock that does not need to boast its self esteem by constantly praising itself or taking credit unto ourselves of the heroic actions of others. The Americans (or rather Hollywood and the media) on the other hand...

Re: Cruelty of British forces over the years

Captain America,  Just a thought. I find it strange that any one who has ever been the target of enemy action, could even think of criticising another in that position.

Today I have watched, and listened to critical comments about a claim that some American Soldiers, Might have shot quite a lot of people. The eye witness is a Ten Year old girl. And this seems to be the Only witness.

Are you, or any other, going to stand there and condem these soldiers? On this very, very, very Slim evidence? Are you prepared to Hang your own Men on this Point?

Please, go away and think about it. Think hard and remember what it is like when the bullets are flying. America sent these men into this awful mess, Now Sir, Stand up for your men. They have done you proud.

Regards ATF.

I suspect Captain America suffers from a form of amnesia in that he conveniently forgets what his fellow citizens did to the native Americans during the 19th C as well as what the US army did to Philippinoes during the Spanish-American War - a war incidentally the Americans conveniently contrived.

Re: Cruelty of British forces over the years
i hear the usual thing of those who've never been in harms way casting aspersions on those who are doing their duty and jobs....a bit shamefull really.if it wasnt for our armed forces then there would be a great deal more terrorist incidents and killings here in the UK and abroard. I feel we need to support of men and women.

I agree Gary, as someone whose name escapes me said:  If you can read this, thank a teacher.  If it is in English, thank a soldier.
