That's the problem with this kind of nonsense, it can become like some kind of religious fervour. Once someone of limited intelligence is presented with this clairvoyancy stunt and the idea of ghosts all around us is embedded in the mind, the individual can become totally impervious to the reality of what is, at the end of the day, a simple party trick which can be learned by anyone who fancies it.
No wonder online scammers and fraudsters make such a pretty penny.

I have read all about cold reading. and to be honest with you what I got from Derek was not cold reading. I do not take these things lightly. I need hard proof way before I start to believe any of it. But having him telling me stuff that no one else knew, was scary to the least. But again was spot on. Anyone who has been to him in person would know he is not fake or a fraud. But I must admit though, him being on Most Haunted did not do him any big favours at the later stage of his tv show. I felt it made him look bad, but he did leave and that's all that matterd.
Give him a chance untill you see him for yourself. Do not judge another untill you know the true facts. THINK ABOUT IT.

Ever been fooled by a magician? How the hell does Derren Brown do that stuff? You reckon you can see through cold reading, stumbling up as a believer, wanting and hoping?
So being found out was just a bit of an unfortunate incident in an otherwise unblemished record as a seer eh?
How gullible do you have to be to swallow the nonsense that people like this trot out when the perpetrator has been damned from his own mouth?! What else would make you stop and wonder - can he really be talking to the dead or is he just a scally making a fast buck out of the ignorant and the desperate?

it looks like whatever you have to say about Derek will be thrown back in your face i would give up now. like you i have great belief in Derek having seen hin twice live and like you said the stuff he comes up with is amazing and non of this cold reading stuff you do get, i went the first time to see him with a very open mind as m h had really ruined a lot for me but he really showed you who and what he was about.
I would go and see him for yourself Amber you never know you may get a reading and some enlightenment then you may just start to belive, but each to his/her own

yes i agree with jenny if you belive in mediums then go....if you dont then dont go....dont let anyone else make your decisions for you,personally i dont go with the whole medium thing but maybe one day i will go just to say i have done it
amber and mark before you make any comments i did quote maybe one day i will go very doubtful though but everyone has their own mind to make up

I recomend to you, to go Coopz & see a medium...Its very interesting & goes way beyond cold readings.
Amber says only dimwits go to Mediums...Where in truth.....Some of the most cleverest people in the world go to mediums.
Princess Diana told people only a few months befor her untimely death that her personal medium had told her to watchout for a possible impending disater.
Unforunately we all know what happend there
So give it a go Coopz....Brandon Spiritual church is a good place to start.....It only costs £2.50 a meeting......OK!!!! A reading is NOT guaranteed. But I have had quite a few & was amazed by what I got from it.
And no!!!!! The mediums there do not predict the future.

I know, and spiritualism being such an honest profession normally. It's dreadful that someone like Derek Acorah can bring the whole reputation of mediumship down to the level of a thieving second hand car salesman.
It does nothing for the reputation of all those fine, upstanding, honest mediums out there who simply want to help people get in touch with their dead loved ones for just a small contribution to the collection plate.
Notes preferred, if you would like to make your paymentcontribution by credit card please note that a small facility fee will be charged. Talking to dead children attracts a slightly higher premium, will quote separately.

What ever has been said about Derek on this thread....Two people on that Live Seance show feels without doubt that derek is the real deal....He told of things that only the two fans knew of & no one else in the whole world. So how did he pick this little chestnut up, other than mediumship

I wonder, did you see the people who took part in that seance? Did they look like well balanced, reasoning human beings to you?
You must be one of the few people left in the country who still believes that Derek Acorah actually talks to dead people, as opposed to being a shifty conman who preys on the gullible and has been thoroughly exposed for his fraudulence.
If you really believe that Michael Jackson seance farrago had any basis in reality you must be seriously deluded.
