Party!!! [<:o)] You can run, but you can't hide

I hereby award the 2009 Nobel Prize for Lateral Thinking, and a big fat cigar, to President Obiang of Equatorial Guinea

Knowing in his heart of hearts - if he had a heart - that his own attempts to extradite the co-conspirators in the attempted coup plot to face the music in Equatorial Guinea, with a masterstroke of Obiang has delegated meting out justice to a man who is just as keen if not actually far keener than he is to renew his acquaintanceship with these gentlemen

ho ho ho, tee hee hee

Simon Mann's at liberty

In my new guise as a trader on the futures market, I am predicting an unprecedented overnight surge in sales of incontinence pads in Spain

It's wrong to gloat

But why not?

SAS man squits on his paymaster, what is Scratcher, son of Thatcher's gonna say to that when the whole story emerges. Did he talk without being tortured? what a novelty eh, we should try that one day in Bagram and Diego garcia, did I mention Guantanamo. Amazing that a west african state not known for its pardon's, can make such a hard man squeak
Was it the propspect of a 34 year sentence in a jail without air conditioning or the prospect of his mates busting him out military style? we ought to be told Simon, I'm sure some tabloid's gonna pay you, so squit some more, please, it will detract from the nasty news of the day. nevermind

I would be very surprised indeed if Simon Mann's coff was extracted under duresse. Why bother? They had him by the short 'n curlies. And to judge by his own words - footage and audio tape of Mann's pronouncements and demeanour in Black Beach - the poor old thing really does seem to have suffered from a catastrophic sense of humour failure. Cast adrift and hung out to dry [mixed metaphors are such fun] by his erstwhile co-conspirators, Mann is unamused. And he can't be bought off. The Mann family fortune is big. Really big. I should know. I built it up assiduously over the 1960s through my reckless 'playboy lifestyle' [pace Scratcher] as I lurched from one seedy watering-hole in Zuzzex to another, fuelled by industrial quantities of Mann's Brine Ale and Watney's Red Barrel. I am materially responsible for enriching the Mann clan.

Simon Mann's pater, and grandpater,  were scions of English society. Captains of the English cricket team [I don't expect yew to grasp the significance of that, nevermind, being a Cherman], they would strut through the Long Room at Lord's to murmurs of quiet approval from the egg 'n bacon brigade [the MCC members] as they thrust out their multiple chins and strode out to the middle [the playing area, nevermind] to do battle once more with the Old Enemy [this time the Aussies, nevermind, not Chermany]. The Manns Snr must be spinnin' like tops in their graves. But this is all to illustrate, nevermind, that Simon Mann knows a thing or two abite cricket. And, by a process of simple deduction, he knows what isn't cricket. And being stitched urp like a kipper by your chums and former drinking companions is the very essence of 'not cricket'.

I've no time for either of 'em. Mann was a mercenary. With his 'advantages' in life, he could have chosen to be... anything but a mercenary. He also chose Scratcher as a drinking partner. Nuff said.

Scratcher, likewise with his 'advantages' in life could have chsoen to be an utter waste of space like so many of his ilk. But he didn't. He make a conscious decision to trail around the planet in the toxic wake of That Awful Woman flogging weapons systems to world-class malefactors. And as a nice little earner back in S Africa, he had a sideline in loan sharking. Call me a cynic. Call me what you like. But I think he's not a very nice human being. Was it 'nurture' or 'nature', 'socialisation' or genetics' that made him behave like he has? hoo nose. But let's face it, with his formative influences it was verging on the impossible that he would ever turn out to be anything but a scumbag.

The fur is about to fly. 'Ex-SAS man bearing grudge may contemplate breaching amateur security set-up in Spanish hideaway of prey'. Who's your money on?

I can't read Spanish. I will be relying upon Bemused, the forum's in-house expert on Spanish practices, to keep us all abreast of reports in the Spanish press.

Scratcher is [re]married to one of Lord Rothermere's rellies. Maybe we'll be treated to a running commentary [just who'll be doing the running I'll leave to your imagination] in that organ of the Tory gutter press the Daily Mail. Littlejohn won't be able to resist, will he?

He stinking rich allright, why else stage coups in Equatorial Africa for filthy money, some 15 million dollars so they say.

They even asked the US what they would say to a coup. Answer:uuuhh we don't like coups and would never support them, BUT, if there would be an ordinary transistion to a democratic minded Government with not much of a blood bath, they would reconsider and probably support democratic change. Hypocrits, its oil, innit...nevermind

I'm afraid that there might not be a god after all, apparently he has been told to be quiet on certain issues, they try to nobble anybody who wants to speak out and most mercenaries have some past record they would not like the public to hear about, so don't be surprised if he will be busy with his missis after a five year abstinence, staying stumm and exhausted. nevermind
