May I say I do not , Errrr believe in ghosts !
Today 29th October 2009 is a beautiful warm bright sunny day , I have a boat on the broads and I need some oil for the gear box , So off I go to Rackheath Industrial site To a Marine engineering business. I knew the site was an American 8th Air Force base during WW2. I drove amongst the maze of buildings and my attention was drawn to a sign reading USAAF memorial , I decided to pay a visit as I had not seen it before , The small memorial and two flag poles enclosed by a low privet hedge was bathed in bright sunlight , I read the inscription , took a photograph , and laid the poppy I was wearing at the foot of the granite marker.I walked back slowly to my car thinking about the 5000 sorties flown from the base and the 235 young Americans kia ,who's youth had been sacrificed. Any way I must find this marine supplier, about 80 yds from the memorial I saw a figure walking beside a building , I,ll ask him I thought, It did strike me as odd that the man who had his hands in his pockets sauntering along would be wearing a green Nylon type bomber jacket on such a warm day as this , he had a tanned complexion and short thick dark hair, and Khaki pants, There was a car parked between me and him and as he disappeared from site behind the car I waited for him to reappear the other side, But he didn't , puzzled I drove forward a few feet thinking he might have bent down to put something in the trunk of the car , There was NO ONE THERE , Where the dickens did he go ? I looked around and there wasnt anyone else in sight and he couldn't have gone back into the building. I found the supplier a few minutes later , bought what I needed and causally asked "are there any ghosts around here ?" the two guys in the shop listened to my story , without snickering and one of them said " Thats not the first time " Me I'm an Atheist but at this moment a some what puzzled one .

Atheist means. Not believing in God....Soirits on the other hand does not come into being an atheist.
A very interesting event that you witnessed there Adrian.
Can you be sure that it was not a person that walked away from out of your vision?
If you can say without doubt that a person could not have walked away naturaly without you seeing him do so while he was behind the car, you just might have seen something very very interesting.
Pesky little raskels, they nearley always dissappear at the time when they are out of vision
Best wishes
Eddie

Hi Adrian
Not believing in spirits, is a scepic.
There are two types of sceptics in the ghost & paranormal world.
A total sceptic....Not believing in anything presented, as a possible ghost or what ever....These are sceptics that will attack a ghosthunter, as being idiots. They do not want to believe in the paranormal
An open minded Sceptic.....A person who is on the side of the ghosthunter, Ufologist or what ever....Giving a possible polite answer to what it could have been that was seen...Deep down these are the ones that want to believe but need more evidence to do so.
An open minded sceptic is someone that is very much needed in a paranormal investigation.
Best wishes
Eddie

Eddy Asks ,"Can you be sure that it was not a person that walked away from out of your vision? "------
As I was not carrying out a controlled experiment or paranormal observation of course I cannot be sure . All I can say is I thought I had the figure in sight until it went behind the car. And I just mentioned My stance as an Atheist as a bye the way that I dont normally believe in what I cannot see or explain , and that my experience left me with a question.

Adrian,
You must have been mistaken, you don't beleive in ghosts, so there fore it was no ghost.
You either saw a ghost or you didn't, only you can decide.
For those that have seen ghosts/spirits, know.

Yes, it's called blind faith. You see something you don't understand, you say it must be a ghost, you tell all your friends.
Proof not required on journey.
