@ Sheringham Community Newspaper provides very local news for the people of Sheringham and should be treasured.

Given the identity of the person imparting this news, forum members will not be in the least surprised to learn that this grubby little rag acts as a publicity vehicle for Trevor "hang on a mo while I get my family into the photo" Ivory.

Now I'm a socialist am I? Yesterday you said I was a Lib Dem.
Trevor Ivory has done diddley squat for North Norfolk EXCEPT for making sympathetic supportive statements for any locval cause he can get his face into a photo from.
That's not DOING anything - it's not even a commitment to do anything when/if his lot get into power because, as we all know, the situation changes when that happens and reality kicks in. So whether it's closing Post Offices, sea defences, the east end toilets or whatever, what he is doing is one of the oldest tricks of "old style" politics - expressing sympathy and gfellow feeling for people with a cause to fight whilst safe in the knowledge thatr he won't have to follow up with action. Now THAT'S cynicism.
As for the "community" paper, there's probably a very good reason why it supports TI - because it's also run by supporters. Indeed the prose style of a lot of the contributions about him (there are a couple every issue) seem very familiar.

Liberals combined with social democrats to form the Liberal Democrats. That is left wing.
Keep slagging off the decent, hardworking Mr Ivory. You only give him more publicity and Norwich North showed negative campaigning it does not work. People like positive campaigning.
There is a good reason Trevor Ivory has supporters. It is because he is a good active man and the Conservatives have good plans for the country, Norfolk and fight clean campaigns.
All your accusations that Ivory does nothing can be completely contradicted by local people and photographic evidence.

You really have trouble with logic don't you? Having your photo taken with a group of people doesn't equate with doing anything to help them or their cause. On the contrary it means you're using them and their cause to further your own ends making them the victims of old-style political cynicism.
If your point about negative campaigning is anything other than being "tongue in the cheek" I suggest you re-read some of the stuff put out by your own party during the recent campaign.

What is handy about photos is that you can see who is in them with Mr Ivory and ask them about him. To meet them join the campaign! Thats why I believe photos & asking local people would prove how hard Trevor is working for the people of North Norfolk.
He has said as Conservative MP he would put his political reputation on getting better coatal defences for Happisburgh, North Norfolk and East Anglia. He and Suffolk Conservative MPs would put huge pressure on Cameron to deliver coastal defences. Now that is a positive message for positive action.

No - saying you support something when you know perfectly well that you won't be able to do anything about it is just cynically misleading the poor dupes who are in the photo with you.
Why do you have such a problem with the concept that what politicians do is make promises they won't keep?
