Oh I do like to be beside the seaside...
From today's EDP you would think we are no longer capable of looking after ourselves or our kids. Well done to the life guards in question but doesn't any one have a modicum of common sense these days so that we need complete strangers on the beach to keep an eye on us and even provide a sticking plaster.
...described the number of parents who lost track of their children as “amazing” - the situation had been so confused at times that as coastguard teams searched for one particular child, they had located others who had become separated from parents.
Are parents so unused to looking after their own kids  for the rest of the year that they can't keep an eye on them on the beach ? Or are kids so used to being nannied that they are naughty stupid little beggars?   Does no one have the common sense to tell their kids to play/swim parallel with the beach rather than swimming out to sea so they don't get out of their depth? And to stick them in jellies at places likeWest Runton so they don't cut their feet or get weever stings?

I suppose the EDP has got to make a story out of something so a normal weekend at the beach becomes a drama.

No doubt next week we will be getting an article expressing surprise that there are jelly fish stings at Hunny in late August...
