Stick out tongue [:P] moneys tight but with some imagination ... you can bring back the great british holiday and recycle :) look what i did :)
As I look at my kids and they talk of all their friends going on holiday this summer holiday .. i sigh as Ive been sick for the past 6 months and awaiting the ok to go back to work. I feel fit and well but sadly im suffering seizures and not safe to be at work. Then one day I stumble across a old 1960s caravan on ebay for £150 ... i had already looked at cheap holidays on haven and other like places .. avergage of £400 + in the summer holidays. The caravan as very retro.. dark brown inside .. not inviting at all. No way I could sell this to the kids ... nothing inviting at all. A friend in introduced me to Freecycle on yahoo and I though maybe with some few camping bits and a lick of paint maybe I can make the caravan funky and fun so the kids would love it. 4 weeks later .. with a few items from freecycle and lots and lots of imagination .. I have managed to make a Beach hut on wheels .. bright colours loads of polka dot and insprired by cath kidston and not a piece of dark brown in sight.. personally i think its the some cute caravan ever :)  :) only costing me £350 in total and lots of hard work from my husband and myself when I have been well. We just come back from ingoldmells and stayed in a quite but lovely camping site for only £11 per night including electric.
With some imagination even a family like mine on the tiniest of budgets can have some fun this summer :)
if you would like to see pictures of our caravan ... you may need your sunglasses LOL  its on facebook .. search for classic retro caravan projects. I now have 5 other friends who are doing the same :)
Hope you have a lovely summer :)
Kylie
