So more sad news, with the death Michael Jackson.
Another major mega icon of pop along with John Lennon and Elvis Presley etc, who never made the trip to old age.
Whatever my thoughts about his strange ways in his later life...I enjoyed his impact on the music scene and his brilliant music videos.

Technology is great when it works. Re: Michael Jackson...thanks for the music. gardener 26/06/2009, 9:15 AM That's pretty sad. The saddest bit is that the poor warped kid thought he had to cut himself about and bleach himself when he had a good act, people in Europe and the USA already loved him and there are so many other AfroAmericans who are huge stars and proud of their ethnicity and their appearance. I wonder if the repeated stress on his metabolism caused the heart failure. Re: Michael Jackson...thanks for the music. ROBERT 26/06/2009, 9:35 AM Another point not mentioned enough was Michaels dance moves. Along with Fred Astire, they both in their own era, had a wonderful dancing ability. Happily both are captured on film for all to still enjoy. Re: Michael Jackson...thanks for the music. Dek 26/06/2009, 11:28 AM A couple of years ago the media was tearing him to bits......now it`s all what a great guy he really was, how sad. now they will be fighting for the film rights before the poor guy is cold, anything that supplies a quick buck ! Dek. Laugh, and the wife laughs with you. Snore and you`ll sleep alone. Re: Michael Jackson...thanks for the music. wallis 26/06/2009, 11:36 AM He was a victim of the success of his family. Allegedly a good singer and dancer. [I wouldn't know about stuff like that]. But effing around with his epidermis, and effing around with children... he lost the plot. Comparing him to Lennon, BTW, is tantamount to comparing Kevin Pietersen to Viv Richards. No comparison. Will not be missed by moi. But in fairness, if I had pre-deceased him he would not have mourned me either! Re: Michael Jackson...thanks for the music. Bemused 26/06/2009, 1:32 PM Bit unfair on his supposed failings, Buk. So there.I noticed that Wikipedia was brought to its knees by so many people trying to update the Jacko entry with conflicting clams about whether he was actually dead yet. You never got that problem with the Britannica! Re: Michael Jackson...thanks for the music. Chrystal Chandra Lear 26/06/2009, 5:19 PM Passing the Hotel Norwich today, a banner heralded a Michael Jackson Tribute Night. "That was quick" I said, "Either opportune or prophetic" came the reply. But on the other hand, you don't get Wikipaedia salesmen knocking at your door just as you're about to sit down for dinner.
