Why such nasty comments to other people on the spooky forum ???????/

OK everybody whats the problem on here?

I have been looking in on this forum for a almost a year before I actually started to think about joining as a member.

I have seen many quite nasty comments from both sides of the fence on the people who believe and those who don't.

Why is it that if some of you out there have to slate people and shoot them down on there views ?

I think that everybody on here needs to respect each other before you loose a good forum.

The E.D.P will not stand for this type of behaviour and have issued an updated on the rules and regulations.

So please if you want this forum to continue just learn to respect each others views before we loose it for good.

If the basis of your belief in these things is so flimsy that it can't bear any criticism I should stay well clear of internet discussion sites and restrict yourself to meeting up with like minded folk so you can nod at each other a lot.

Just because someone believes in something it does not mean that belief necessarily merits any kind of respect.

I don't think that many people on the forum have an issue with criticism that is useful and constructive, it's only when 'criticism' is used as a way to wind others up by mocking their beliefs, it becomes negative.Why does it matter that others have different views? Will the world end if i believe in the paranormal and you don't? Who cares in the grand scheme of things???

Indeed. What does it matter? So what's the fuss? And if people simply say "this is true because I believe it" it seems entirely reasonable to point out the witlessness of that argumant.

After reading your post I think you fail to understand what I am really getting at!

You seem to be under the impression that people on here cant take critisism but thats not the case. there are ways of putting things on here without having to say that your werid because you believe in ufo's for example.

If you were to say something like I think that there could be no possible way that an alien life form can exsist because... then your putting your point accross without getting other peoples backs up and providing a balanced argument against that persons views.

I dont personally worry about your comments as im in no doubt that you use this to wind people up but please remember that we all have our own views on things whether you think they are right or wrong .

I can't recall ever saying someone is weird if they believe in UFOs. I also don't in any way hold the opinion that there is no possible way that alien life form can exist. I also don't remotely make comments simply to "wind people up".

I do however think that believing in ghosts on the basis of hearing noises in an empty house or seeing smudgy things on photos is simple dimwittedness.

That I do believe. And please don't be nasty to me because I believe that with all my heart so it must be true.

There is an old saying.........You cant prove that it exists, but you cant prove that it dont.

Ive had my paranormal experiences & I know only too well that what I have experienced goes way beyond the normal.

Hi Eddie,

Not quite correct, you can prove something exists, but you can't prove something doesn't.

I think that a lot of the problems on this forum relates to how things are presented - this applies to 'both sides' of the fence (if there is such a thing).

To a greater extent, the paranormal is personal to the observer, but not paranormal in the true sense of the word.

Making claims that something is paranormal based on perception is an 'invitation to treat' to many others.

I think that this is a very apt wording.

As the same goes with the saying.....You cant prove that there is life on other planets in space. But you cant prove that there is not!!!!!!!!!

Here's something logical for you (not sure it is "of logical imput", whatever that is meant to mean):

Entities should not be multiplied unnecessarily.

In simple terms that means that the explanation of any phenomenon should make as few assumptions as possible.

Or in ever simpler terms (this is where you come in Eddie): if there is a straightforward explanation for something then that is the explanation one should go for, rather than lurching for a wildly improbable one.

i.e. if you see something you can't explain, like a shadowy figure moving across a graveyard, then the explanation that it is a cloud moving in front of the moon is the first port of call, rather than that it is a supernatural being.

However I sense I lost your attention when you stopped understanding what you were reading. Round about the word "Here's"...
