A former Norfolk rector is due to stand trial having denied a sexual offence dating back to the late 1990s.
Michael Woods, the former Rev Canon of St Nicholas Church in Great Yarmouth, has been charged with indecent assault involving a male aged 16 or over.
The 80-year-old, of Sarawak, Malaysia, appeared at Norwich Crown Court earlier this month when he denied an offence of sexual assault on a male aged between 17 and 18.
The alleged offence is said to have taken place between August 1997 and August 1999.
A trial, expected to last up to six days, is scheduled to take place from August 11 next year.
Woods was granted conditional bail.
